Our main goal at Mwananchi Afrika is to digitise, spread & educate more on our local languages.

The ‘Gítaúra gía Gíkúyú’ project is intended to further document the Kikuyu language spoken in Kenya by over 8 million people.
This trilingual dictionary utilises Gíkúyú, Kiswahili and English in order to open the door to those who want to learn the beautiful language

It is the first part in the ‘Múríma project’ which intends to create such dictionaries for Kikuyu, Embu and Meru, while supporting similar initiatives for other Kenyan laguages.
